Hi, it's me Bri!
My name is Brianna, but you can call me Bri (they/them). I am a hairstylist currently residing in Portland, Oregon where I specialize in curls and textured cuts. In 2021 I became a licensed cosmetologist in New Jersey and knew my education didn't stop at beauty school. I learned the art of precision cutting through Ecru New York, and spent years training under master colorists to understand the art of blonding and lived in hair color; and yet I felt that there was still someone being left out. In 2023 I began my journey to master curls with Big Rude Hair Education, where I learned to enhance curl patterns, color with curl integrity in mind, and to approach curls and the person under them with tenderness. I believe in serving all people, no matter their hair texture or gender expression.
My Story
I entered the hair industry to become the person that I needed when I was younger. I am nonbinary, meaning I don’t find comfort in traditional femininity or masculinity. I would cut and color my own hair so I could look how I wanted and without judgement from the people in the salon. Years later I became a licensed cosmetologist to create the gender affirming experience I was missing. I am constantly learning, not only through professional education but through every human that sits in my chair. Every head of hair is a puzzle to be solved. Whether it’s blending several curl patterns or camouflaging baby hairs. Every human that sits in my chair has a unique story and perspective and I believe that your hair should resonate with who you are and tell people how you want to be perceived.
